Book yours in today, call Natalie on 07794477014 🎀 It’s never too early to start caring about your skin. In fact the sooner skincare becomes a priority, the better. In our 20s, we can often think we are invincible and that we will never age, but really, that is the time you should develop good habits, because it will last you a lifetime. Check out five very important tips to help ensure your skin is the best it can be! 1. Anti-ageingThe sooner you start caring about lines the better when it comes to anti-ageing. The first thing you need to do is find a broad-spectrum sunscreen and apply liberally, even during the Autumn and Winter months, because the sun is still powerful enough to penetrate the skin and cause damage. 2. Include your neck and handsFace neck and hands has often been referred to as the holy trinity of skincare. Let’s face it; you don’t want a young-looking face coupled with old-looking neck and hands. These three areas are all likely to be chronically sun exposed, so make sure that whatever attention and care you give to your face, you also do the same to your hands and neck. 3. Avoid smokingIt’s no secret that smoking is a really bad skin habit, but yet many of us continue to do it! Every time you inhale, you're causing wrinkles around your lips. Smoking also limits the blood supply to the skin, which results in ageing looking a lot more obvious. Next time you think about lighting up, consider whether it is really worth the effect it will have on your skin! 4. Keep activeExercise is vitally important for healthy skin and has a massive impact. It helps to increase the blood supply to your skin, which in turn makes it look and feel healthier. And let’s be honest, there is nothing quite like that post workout healthy glow! That’s me booked in for the next spin class! 5. MicrodermabrasionNormally skin renews itself approximately every 28 days. The SkinBase Facial™ speeds up the rate at which the skin would normally renew itself by removing dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin. As a result, tired and dull patches are removed and new, fresh and radiant skin is revealed. Step 1: Client ConsultationThe SkinBase Therapist will determine your individual needs and devise a treatment plan to achieve the results that you require. Treatments plans can vary from single 'beauty boost' treatments to courses of 6 to 20 treatments every 7 to 10 days. Step 2: CleanseA gel cleanser will be used to ensure that your skin is clean and dry before the treatment commences. For male clients, ideally your face should be clean shaved the night before a treatment (this is not essential). Dry, shaven and clean skin means that the abrasive compound can penetrate the skin unobstructed. Step 3: Treat and TargetA wand delivering a fine jet of abrasive crystals will be passed over the skin. Dead skin particles will be abraded away and a vacuum action will remove the debris. This dual action will both resurface the skin and stimulate the blood flow, encouraging the skin to rejuvenate itself and produce collagen and elastin. After passing across the skin area once, the therapist will then target problem areas like open pores, pigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles, blemishes and acne scarring. Step 4: Moisturise with SPFAfter the treatment a simple moisturiser with a neutral pH (pH 4.5 - pH 7) and without any essential oils, AHA's, glycolics or retinol should be applied to replenish lost moisture and to prevent the skin becoming dry and peeling. Sun damage can cause pigmentation and premature ageing of the skin. After a SkinBase Facial™ it is essential to protect the skin from excessive sun exposure by applying a moisturiser with an SPF. This is especially true in the summer months and for clients that are having SkinBase Facials to treat pigmentation. Failure to apply regular sun cream could cause the pigmentation to return. |
